Regional Tourism Potentials
Banten area of 8800.83 km2 with the population reaching 9,423,367 inhabitants according to census 2007. The majority Muslim population with a livelihood from agriculture, commerce, industry and services. Government units are divided into 4 districts and 4 cities: Serang, Pandeglang district, Lebak Regency, Tangerang Regency, Tangerang, Cilegon, Serang City and South Tangerang city. Each region has the characteristics of cultural tourism resources, natural, artificial and traditional community life (living culture) that developed as tourist destinations nationwide and even internationally as Enchantment Beach Anyer, Carita & Cape Lesung, maritime tourism Umang Island, Ujung Kulon National Park , tour the Old Banten Religion and uniqueness Baduy Traditional Society.

Program Development
Banten Tourism Development identified over 204 Tourism Destination Region (ODTW) spread throughout the province of Banten. Consisting of Natural Tourism Object 84, Object 34 History and Culture Tourism, Tourism Made Object 24, Object 9 Object Living Culture and Tourism Tourism Attractions 48 Arts. A total of 71 ODTW (34.8%) is a tourist area that has grown both in national and international scale. Meanwhile, about 100 ODTW (49.0%) is a potential Tourism Object to be developed. The pattern of tourism development in Banten Province covers 18 areas, including West Coast, South Coast Tourism Region, North Coast Region Tourism, Pilgrimage Tourism Area, Tourism Area of Ujung Kulon National Park (TNUK) and Son Island and Mount Krakatoa, and others.
